When you’re hauling serious weight, the Aluminum AM03 Series wheel has the strength to back it up. This 16" x 6" rim is rated for 4,400 lbs and meets DOT specifications for dependable highway use. The steel inserts in the lug nut wells keep the wheel securely seated on the hub and prevent wear around the bolt holes, so you aren’t chasing loose lug nuts over time.
You don’t have to sacrifice looks for durability. The black aluminum build is lightweight, rustproof, and topped with a clear coat finish on both sides that protects against scuffs and scratches. Whether you’re rolling through rain or road spray, the corrosion resistance keeps this wheel looking clean and sharp season after season.
Fitment is straightforward with this 8 on 6-1/2 bolt pattern and a 4.90" pilot diameter. The zero offset design centers the load for balanced pressure across the hub face, helping your setup track straight and steady down the road. The wheel accepts standard 1/2"-20 or 9/16"-18 bolts, making install simple with no guesswork.
For setups that call for higher tire pressures, this wheel is built to handle it. The valve stem hole measures 0.453", sized for a metal bolt-in stem like the Americana #AM20906, which is rated for over 100 psi. It’s a solid foundation if you’re pairing it with larger tires that demand higher air pressure capacity.
Looks matter just as much as function. The open-spoke layout gives it a modern feel while cutting unnecessary weight, and the machined face adds a clean contrast against the black finish. It’s a combination that makes any trailer look fresh and well put together without adding extra maintenance or bulk.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Americana 16 inch by six inch AM03 series black machined aluminum trailer wheel with the eight on six-and-a-half inch bolt pattern. Now this aluminum wheel is very durable, lightweight, and rustproof. As we mentioned, this is an AM03 series wheel, which if you notice is an eight-spoke design that has a nice black finish, and then a machine silver face on the edge of the spokes to provide a nice, bold, sleek look. The black finish you can see is a glossy black, bright, glossy black finish, and they do put a clear coating on both the front and even the back of the wheel to protect the finish. Now the rim dimensions on this, the diameter, which is always measured inside the inside, is 16 inches.
And we're gonna go ahead and put a ruler on that just so you can see. If we go inside-inside, right at 16 inches, and the width is six inches. And the same way, it'll be measured inside to inside, or bead seat to bead seat. There's your six inch measurement on the width. Bolt pattern on this wheel is an eight on six-and-a-half inch bolt pattern.
And if you wanted to measure that on a wheel, it's an even number of lugs, like this one being eight. What's easy is the lug holes are directly across from each other, so when you measure it, you measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the lug hole right across from it. So on this one, if we measured, it'd be six-and-a-half inches, so that's an eight lug, six-and-a-half inch wheel. Now the wheel lug size this uses is a half-inch by 20, or a 9/16ths by 18. Weight capacity on this wheel is 4,400 pounds.
And one of the nice features I like about this wheel is they do use steel inserts in the lug nut wells where you put your lug nuts, and those are designed to help keep your wheels securely in place on your trailer hub. So when you tighten your lug nuts down, it prevents those holes from elongating and wearing down, and eliminates the need for constant re-tightening of your lug nuts. Now if you notice the center cap is not included. We do sell those separately. When you do buy a center cap for this, you wanna buy it by the width or the diameter of the center cap.
It needs to fit into this pilot hole here. The pilot hole on this is 4.90. Now this wheel does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications, and the SAE J1204 standards. But that should do it for the review on this Americana 16 inch by six inch AM03 series black machined aluminum trailer wheel.

Great, quick delivery.
Very good service
Very nice wheels. Delivered quickly
Great looking wheel. Two day freight showed up first thing in the morning.
Service was great. Good quality wheel. Looks good on the RV.
Great job. Delivered fast.
Nice looking wheels at a great price. Upgrading from load range E to G tires on my fifth wheel. The factory aluminum wheels can't handle the 110 PSI they require. I was very happy to find these as they were considerably less than most of the other aluminum wheels I looked at.
As always, etrailer came through with super fast shipping.
Great wheel and it arrived quick in great packaging
wheels are amazing and center chrome cap fit perfect. Easy order process.
Wheels arrived quickly. Packaging was good. They look great!
Rims are exactly as described and the whole process was fast and easy. Highly recommend working with etrailer.com and will use them again for future needs. Customer service was great too, specifically working with Cassondria.
very small blemish, wheel was bought for a spare tire and will and be great
Good wheels. No issues after a year.
Awesome customer service. Very professional purchasing experience, quick delivery.
All of these rims showed up with damage because they were not protected at the source.
Wow! Overall I am impressed with these wheels. I like the fact they have steel inserts to prevent wearing on the typical aluminum wheels and the torque stays set. The quality is there. The packaging is good but not perfect as there were a few very light scratches on three out of four front face of the rims. There were some deeper gouges on the back face of two of the rims and surface scrapes on the other two. None of these details affected the service. All details were as advertised. Very happy with my purchase at e-Trailer. The sales folks stay in contact with you for any questions.
